MY CONTRIBUTION
As an iOS developer for Cosmo AI, I was responsible for implementing the app's core functionality, designing the user interface, and integrating AI capabilities. I worked closely with the AI team to ensure seamless processing of documents and generation of study materials.
Key contributions included:
- Developing the document processing pipeline for various file formats
- Creating an intuitive chat interface for interacting with documents
- Implementing flashcard and quiz generation algorithms
- Optimizing app performance for handling large documents
- Ensuring data privacy and security for user uploads
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
Challenge: Processing Large Documents on Mobile
Handling and processing large textbooks and lecture notes efficiently on mobile devices with limited resources.
Solution:
Implemented a hybrid processing approach where initial document parsing happens on-device, while more intensive AI operations are offloaded to our cloud infrastructure. This approach maintains responsiveness while allowing for powerful AI capabilities.
Challenge: Generating Accurate Study Materials
Ensuring that automatically generated quizzes and flashcards were relevant and educationally valuable.
Solution:
Developed a domain-specific AI model trained on educational content that could identify key concepts, important definitions, and critical relationships within text. Implemented a quality scoring system to filter out low-quality generated content.
